Ilizarov Technique

Ilizarov is an advance orthopedic surgical technique. It is better known for leg length discrepancy management. Leg length discrepancy can be minimized or sometimes can be equalized with this procedure. In this procedure a ring fixator is being used to correct the deformity. It has got a specific place in the management of bony deformity where traditional orthopedic surgery does not promise much. It is time taking procedure. The ring is placed for few weeks and the orthopedic surgeon need to align the ring every week or so.
