SEMLLARS
SEMLLARS is an acronym of Single Event Multilevel Lever Arm Restoration surgery. This is a complex orthopedic technique where osteotomy is being done along with soft tissue release. When soft tissue is released in multiple joints it is called SEMLS. SEMLLARS is practiced when the child has multiples deformity with bony involvement like Tibial Torsion, Femoral Ante version, Hip dislocation etc. In earlier days, when there were only traditional surgeries were available a child with cerebral palsy needed to visit the orthopedic surgeon annually to get the surgery done. It was called “Birth Day Syndrome”. Due to SEMLLARS, the Birth Day Syndrome is not happening now. To know more about this procedure, please mail us your query.
